Youth Love Egypt Foundation organized a beach cleanup campaign in Alexandria, in cooperation with the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency.

As the official focal point of World Cleanup Day in Egypt, launched by the global Let’s Do It movement, the foundation is leading nationwide activities connected to World Cleanup Day.

The campaign targeted Sayed Darwish Beach in Alexandria, where participants succeeded in collecting nearly 300 kilograms of waste, including plastics, cardboard, and cigarette butts.

The event brought together 35 volunteers from 10 different governorates. Visitors to the beach also engaged with the campaign’s goals, many joining the volunteers and actively participating in the cleanup efforts.
Ahmed Fathy, President of Youth Love Egypt Foundation, emphasized that the results achieved at Sayed Darwish Beach are just one step in a series of on-the-ground activities that will continue across governorates in the coming period. These efforts aim to promote a culture of protecting natural resources, reducing pollution, and encouraging environmentally responsible behaviors—particularly among youth, who represent the true energy for change.

He added that through this initiative, Youth Love Egypt reaffirms its commitment to protecting Egypt’s coasts and reducing the risks posed to the Mediterranean Sea by plastic pollution, striving for a cleaner and more sustainable environment for present and future generations.
