Mr. Ahmed Fathy, founder of the Youth Love Egypt Foundation (YLE), was featured in a special interview during the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), where he shared the organization’s impactful journey in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advancing environmental action.
Some of the key highlights he spoke about:
A beach cleanup campaign in Marsa Matrouh that collected over 300 kg of plastic waste
A warning about plastic pollution and how it can persist in the environment for 200 to 600 years
The importance of partnerships between civil society, government, and the private sector
Empowering girls and equipping them with tech skills to drive meaningful change
Advocating for greater inclusion of Global South youth at the upcoming COP30 Climate Conference
Ahmed shared:
"When we give young people trust and opportunity, they can achieve real and lasting impact in their communities."
He also emphasized that goals like Life Below Water and Gender Equality still need stronger support and funding — and that collective, collaborative action is the key to progress.
Despite the challenges, the foundation has secured the participation of three young women in the upcoming COP30 in Brazil!
