YLE Foundation' reiterates its call for enhancing youth participation in press conference organized by PACJA in SB58 conference
Ahmed Fathy, Founder and CEO of YLE Foundation, stressed the need to enhance the active participation of youth in climate-related conferences by providing the necessary financial support, especially in light of the difficulties that young people face in terms of transportation and accommodation costs.
This came during his participation in the Bonn climate Conference (SB 58) as part of preparations for the twenty-eighth session of the UN Conference of the Parties (COP 28), due to be hosted by the UAE.
Fathi also touched on the impact of climate change on youth and the subsequent disappearance of some jobs.
Fathi also expressed his regret that Sudanese youth did not attend this important event due to the state of instability that Sudan is witnessing during this period, expressing his hope that countries will assume their responsibility towards ensuring the participation of youth by facilitating the procedures for obtaining entry visas to participate in such important events.
In the same context, Fathi pointed to the need for more youth to be present in climate summits, urging the host countries to allocate more places for youth to ensure that their voices are well represented.
