Under the Auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC): Youth Love Egypt Foundation Participates in the High-Level Political Forum in New York
Youth Love Egypt Foundation (YLEF) took part in one of the key sessions of the first week of the 2025 High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from July 14 to 24, 2025. The forum was organized under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and attended by UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The Foundation was represented by Ahmed Fathy, President of Youth Love Egypt Foundation and Advisor to ECOSOC, reflecting international recognition of the Foundation’s expertise and leadership in sustainable development and environmental protection.
The Foundation's participation spanned several main areas, including engagement in Major Groups sessions. YLEF actively contributed to the NGO Major Group sessions, helping shape youth perspectives—both Arab and global—on critical sustainable development issues. The Foundation also offered innovative insights to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
Ahmed Fathy emphasized that the Foundation was keen to actively engage in all formal forum sessions, in addition to attending specialized side events. This comprehensive involvement enabled the team to gain in-depth understanding of the global challenges and opportunities in sustainable development.
Fathy also noted that the Foundation focused on key strategic objectives and launched a pioneering media initiative aimed at knowledge sharing and public awareness. As part of this initiative, the team produced a daily one-minute video in Arabic summarizing the main highlights, outcomes, and key messages from each day of the forum.
This initiative, Fathy explained, seeks to simplify complex concepts for Arab audiences and deliver outcomes and recommendations in a fast and accessible manner. It also aims to raise awareness of the importance of the SDGs and enhance Arab youth engagement in global issues.
Through its impactful participation, the Foundation was able to effectively represent Egyptian and Arab voices on the international stage, build strategic partnerships with regional and international organizations in the same field, gain advanced insights into sustainable development challenges and opportunities, and strengthen its digital presence through specialized media content—while also contributing to the formulation of recommendations on youth and marine environment issues.
